I started this project about 3 months ago. It was an experiment to see if I could create a mindless doodle drawing directly onto a canvas and turn it into a painting. The painting size is 30 inches X 48 inches (76.2 cm X 121.92 cm) on a stretched canvas.

Below is a slideshow showing the various steps along the way.
The reason I got this silly idea was because I had been doing a number of mindless doodle drawings. This was a very enjoyable and fun experience. I just doodled and scribbled until something interesting was created. So I thought — hmm, why not see if I can make a mindless doodle into a full size acrylic painting. Sometimes ignorance can lead to great things. In retrospect perhaps that ignorance stung me in the butt.
Anyway…
So almost 3 months later here I am. Is it finished? I guess so. I don’t know. All I know is that I am sick and fricken tired of it. I even walked by it the other day and flashed the “finger” at it (both hands) — arg!
All I need to do now is paint the edges of the canvas black, sign it and hang it. Perhaps over time it will grow on me. Most likely starting a new painting will bring some love to this current project. I have titled it “Singularity”. You can learn the reason for the title here.
At the very least I can move on and start thinking about my next painting abomination.
If you are adventurous and would like to torture your soul check out the entire process for the project: Singularity.
Good luck sticking with it.
Cool doodle…. I really like it.
